Biography
Passionate
by fine art in his younger age, Fritz Junior Jacquet is
a real self-taught man of folding,that title confers great
prestige on him and his unique style distinguish from other
Origami masters.
The brand
name JFJ (signature of the artist) built
with the wire of time and the result of different univers
in which Junior evolved, starting in his native Haiti where
he spend the first seven years of his life.
As a newcomers
in France with his two sisters to joint their parents, the
child of the old Bours d'Aquin (Haiti) discover a new culture
that he made his through years. It in his country of adoption,
particularly in Paris, he continues his training in folding.
As a teenager,
he took a beginer class of folding at the public library.
That experience aware him of his facility in visuel art
that he used to practice before with one technic dictated
by his teachers.
It will be
a revelation which will lead him to meet Vincent
FLODERER, his mentor, an experienced paperfolder,
who help his evolution and with whom he create the - international
research center of Modeling by the Fold - "Centre
de Recherche Internationale
de Modélisation par le Pli
(CRIMP)". That collaboration help him move on toward
the demostration of his skills. Because of that relationship,
he acquire a critical glance as well as a rigour in his
creation : an essential key for all artist advancement.
Since the chrysalis the origami left its cocoon and took
its take-off. From now on recognized by its pars, Junior
participate every year at the MASTER OF ORIGAMI, the most
prestigious international meeting of origami. This recognition
is also translated by the exposition of several JFJ works
in the two largest sanctuaries of folding in the world :
the Origami Galery (Japon, Tokyo) and the
Mingei international Museum (San Diego, USA).
